Threshold is the new album by God in a Black Suit, out on May 16th for Missing Fink Records, based in Augusta (Georgia, USA).

Thirteen new songs, plus two bonus tracks added to the singles A New Life and To Forget, which underline the creative urgency and the original character of the quintet from Matera, confirming a direction solidly rooted in the most genuine Post-Punk and New Wave, but further opening up to those alternative and indie scenarios already explored in the first work.

The album explores the theme of inner growth: loss, detachment, renunciation, acceptance, are just some of those fundamental experiences that each of us faces in the course of life. Processing a pain or trying to forget it, enjoying happiness or being forced to give it up, accepting change and embarking on a new journey, every experience prepares us to the awareness that change is unavoidable.

Thresholds, the title track, is a manifesto of what will be explored in the following 12 tracks: the desire for change in A New Life, the need for detachment in To Forget and its opposite in I Remember You, the loss in Whisper and finally the farewell in End.

And also the challenge, the ambition, the desire and the search for a new balance far from the patterns of an increasingly invasive society in Goodbye, Breath, Sunshine, One More Time, Dirt, Invisible.

Each song starts from a personal background and take a step towards the new, for better or for worse.

God in a Black Suit were born in Matera, Italy in 2020, and made their debut in September 2021 with the Nails EP. The self-titled debut album was then released on June 9th, 2023, and contains ten tracks with a clear Post-Punk/New Wave matrix, albeit with some Indie Rock influences.

To cite some references, their sound recalls Bauhaus, Pixies, Slowdive and the early Siouxsie And The Banshees, especially in the sharp guitar sound and the pressing drums, with compositions "characterized by a different leitmotif of characteristic sound effects and an original and unexpected melodic direction." (Post-Punk.com)

Their work was noticed by the USA label Missing Fink Records, with which the band signed a deal for the vinyl printing of their catalog.

The album's release was followed by intense live activity, which didn't prevent the group from finding the time to write and record the new songs now included in Thresholds.
