🔵 Jordan Anthony ○ Lost in LA

  From UNITED STATES

A

t just 20 years old, Jordan Anthony has already lived a lifetime of music. The Perth-born, Los Angeles–based artist writes emotionally charged pop anthems that fuse storytelling with soul, transforming his own struggles and triumphs into songs that make people feel seen.

His journey began early. At age seven, Jordan wrote his first song, not a hit, as he jokes, but an outlet. Bullied at school and struggling to open up, songwriting became his escape. “It allowed me to say things I never could out loud,” he recalls. “From that point on, I knew this was what I was meant to do, to help people feel seen, heard, and less alone.”

By five, his parents had enrolled him in piano lessons, a decision he once resisted but now credits as the foundation of his self-sufficient musicianship. With that skill came the freedom to arrange and compose, and before long, he was writing songs with the kind of emotional honesty that would define his artistry.

At 14, Jordan stepped into the spotlight, earning national attention as a Top 4 finalist on The Voice Australia (2019). That same year, he represented Australia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, performing his original song “We Will Rise” and placing eighth internationally. Soon after, he was headlining Perth’s One Big Voice festival at RAC Arena and delivering a TEDx Talk on the power of storytelling through music.

But it was his leap into the global scene that truly set him apart. In 2024, Jordan was invited to compete on American Idol, where he made the Top 14 and introduced his music to a worldwide audience. The experience led him to relocate to Los Angeles, a move that marked the beginning of his next chapter.

His breakout collaboration “Cherry” with fellow Idol alum Ajii served as his first major introduction to global listeners, combining silky pop production with heartfelt lyricism and marking the beginning of Jordan’s evolution into a world-class pop storyteller.

In the months that followed, Jordan cemented his creative identity with a string of powerful singles,  “Reckless” and “Tell Me”,  each exploring a different shade of love, loss, and self-discovery. “Reckless” showcased Jordan’s pop sensibility and his ability to make heartbreak feel euphoric, while “Tell Me” leaned into vulnerability, pairing his soaring vocals with introspective lyricism that resonated deeply with fans. Together, the tracks set the stage for his most emotionally mature work to date.

In November 2025, Jordan released Hurt Me Sooner, a song that captures the ache of looking back on a relationship and wishing you could get that time back, even when you know it shaped you. Written with Brett Koolik and produced by Taylor Sparks, the track blends sweeping pop production with raw emotional vulnerability, marking another step forward in Jordan’s storytelling evolution.

Now, Jordan returns with his new single Lost in LA, a song he describes as “really important” and deeply personal. “I almost never even released it,” he admits, “but the more I listened to it, the more I realized this song actually needs to come out. It tells a lot of my story, not just my first year in LA away from home, but my journey as an artist overall. Being an artist can be so volatile, and this song kind of encapsulates those feelings of how easy it is to lose your way. I wanted to show people that it’s okay to feel like that and that it’s normal when pursuing your dreams, I just hope someone out there needs this song just as much as I do.”

While Lost in LA is a standalone single, Jordan hints that it’s just the beginning: “There’s an EP on the way this year that I’m genuinely so excited about. It’s a culmination of the best songs and stories I’ve written over the last year and a half,  moving to LA, finding who I am as an artist, and making music I feel so genuinely passionate about. It’s taken a long time to get to this point sonically, and I feel like it’s always developing, but I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

The song was born in a moment of solitude. “I wasn’t intending to write that day,” Jordan recalls, “but I was really homesick and doubting everything. I picked up my guitar, and the song just fell out of me in thirty minutes.” Once he decided to release it, Jordan collaborated with Nashville producers Parker Matthews and Todd Tran, who elevated the track to its final cinematic pop form.

Lost in LA is meant to be felt as much as heard. Jordan envisions it as a “headphones-in-the-uber-looking-out-the-window-longingly main character moment” type of song, though he believes it can resonate anywhere. At its core, the track is a message to never give up on one’s pursuits: “Accept the lows and know it’s all part of the process. Use those days to make the small wins feel even sweeter. It’s something I struggle with every day, but writing songs like this makes it easier to cope.”

Jordan’s artistry thrives in the balance between vulnerability and confidence, heartbreak and hope. His musical inspirations range from Ed Sheeran, Adele, and Sam Smith to Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Charlie Puth, Mike., Tate McRae, and Teddy Swims, artists whose emotional precision, presence, and authenticity have shaped both his sound and his approach to pursuing his dreams.

Outside the studio, Jordan stays grounded through family time, beach days, sushi outings, PlayStation sessions, and soccer, a lifelong passion rivaling music itself.

Jordan’s career is marked by early milestones and ongoing successes: Top 4 on The Voice Australia (2019), Top 14 on American Idol (2024), guest speaker at TEDx Perth (2023), headlining Perth’s One Big Voice festival (2019, 2022, 2023), representation of Australia at Junior Eurovision (2019), and a growing global fanbase fueled by breakout singles like “Cherry,” “Reckless,” “Tell Me,” and Hurt Me Sooner. His first single, Broken Love, amassed over 600,000 streams across platforms and earned spots on Spotify’s “Peaceful Pop” and “New Pop” playlists.

For Jordan, the ultimate goal is connection. “I want listeners to feel inspired and seen through my music,” he says. “If someone stops a song to replay a line and thinks, ‘THAT PART!!’ and really relates to it, I’ve done everything I set out to do.”

With Lost in LA kicking off 2026 and a forthcoming EP that promises to be his most honest work yet, Jordan Anthony continues to cement his place at the forefront of a new generation of pop artists, fearless in vulnerability, unafraid to bare his soul, and dedicated to transforming personal stories into universal anthems.
