HUNYBEES storm into 2021 with their biggest project to date, a 4 track EP ‘Filth’.
To honour the body of work, HUNYBEES are due to release the last single from the EP ‘I Keep Falling in Love’ a raw, cutting edge and unique Indie/Rock belter, blending in an optimistic summery tone melody with deepened vocals creating the HUNYBEES’ distinguished sound.
“This track rounds off the EP. It’s about that innate desire for love and to be loved, even when we know it may not work out. It’s a playful, fun song that doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not. We’ve played with the simplicity of it by using a whole bunch of our influences, some blues in the bass, an indie rock guitar line and post punk vocal elements.” Charlie Preston
HUNYBEES are an indie duo from Hertfordshire, made up of Charlie Preston (vocals) and Louis Bailey (drums). The band use their range of musical influences, such as The Strokes, Richard Hell and The Magic Gang, to create an intricate yet familiar sound of “electrifying indie-rock”. With unforgettable charisma and energy on and off stage, the duo have created an incredibly strong branding and a live set which leaves the audience in the palm of their hands. Having played with bands such as Crystal Tides, Juno and Second Thoughts, and at venues including O2 Academy Islington, The Horn and a sold out Club 85 show, HUNYBEES have honed a captivating energy during their live performances and are excited to venture into the capital and beyond
“Filth” is the debut EP from the band, set to release June 18th. Charlie and Louis have used their personalities and humour to create a collection of songs that outline their trials as young people, in a modern age and lack of success in love. “At their centre, the tracks are very personal and honest however they have a thick glazing of irony,” says Preston. “We never take ourselves too seriously, hence the tongue and cheek nature of what we do.”
