TAPE TOY ○ SICK SICK SICK

Today, TAPE TOY release their new single ‘Sick Sick Sick’. It’s the first single from their new EP called ‘TTYS’ (talk too you soon), out April 15th. Their debut album (2022) had a bit more of a serious undertone, but the new EP makes room for lighter themes and lots of energy. ‘Sick Sick Sick’ is about trying to stop the time, forgetting our daily problems, drinking and partying, despite knowing there will be some consequences…

Last year TAPE TOY released their debut album, called ‘Honey, WTF’, about loss, mourning and trying to get on with life. The serious themes combined with catchy indie rock seemed to be the perfect match. Belgian blog ‘Dansende Beren’ rated the record with four stars out of five and included it in their top 10 Dutch albums of the year.

Right now, a brand-new EP is waiting to shake things up and make room for lighter themes. The band feels it’s time to write about dorky stuff again: a failed crush, or someone who forgot to call you on your birthday.
