The Sea At Midnight has just released the single "Atmosphere" on Bandcamp for the first time, which once again finds LA based singer/songwriter Vince Grant collaborating with producer Chris King of Cold Showers who produced and mixed the single.
Tony Bevilacqua of Cold Showers also added some inspired saxophone to the track, a first on a The Sea At Midnight song. Says Vince, "While we were recording "Atmosphere" happened to be listening to a lot of early Psychedelic Furs, which features quite a bit of saxophone.
It was such an integral part of their early sound. When it came time to do a guitar solo on the outro had the thought of having a lead saxophone part instead of a guitar. I brought the idea up to Chris and he was all for it and got Tony onboard to play. When I first heard Tony play the part he came up with I was completely blown away. Gave me goosebumps actually.
Thought it was amazing. Think it captures the feelings I was trying to convey lyrically and really adds something special to the song. To me his playing couldn't be more perfect. Feel like it really encapsulates the emotion of the song." "Atmosphere" is also accompanied by another beautifully artistic video by Ryan Thomas Mitchell."
