he Return announces Shesgot's new album, A House Into a Body, out February 20, 2026, on Geneva-based Urgence Disk and Loop Collective.
The Return arises from the bones of Afro-Cuban music mixed with contemporary Gilla Band - style sounds, a rhythmic dialogue that finds breathing space once all the instruments settle in, then gains final momentum on a Bark Psychosis/Seefeel-esque journeys.
Latent depression and anxiety resurface during periods of apparent relaxation, a struggle with one's own dramas while knowing that demons are approaching the door.
The video features a selection of sequences from the celebrated musical film King of Jazz (1930), directed by John Murray Anderson and produced by Universal Pictures, which is considered one of the finest examples of cinematic spectacle from the pre-Code era, and entered the public domain in January 2026.
These bright, choreographed, and optimistic images are grafted onto the dark, nocturnal, post-punk feel of the song. The editing creates a stark and intentional contrast: the spectacular euphoria of 1930s musical cinema is interwoven with Shesgot's tense, contemporary music, altering its perception and revealing an alienating side.
The result is a visual and sonic friction in which past and present overlap, transforming classical imagery into a restless and disjointed emotional landscape, dark and nocturnal in inspiration.
Shesgot started from the meeting between Michele Caserta and Matteo Palmieri, whose musical connection immediately revealed surprising depth. Later Matteo's brother, Federico Palmieri, joined, and his voice blended perfectly with the sound and atmosphere of the songs.
Their underground debut came in 2021 with the album The Seeker, an intense and revitalizing record where post-punk and shoegaze reign supreme. The band garnered positive feedback nationwide, appearing on the Sei Gradi podcast on national Radio RAI, on Gianluca Polverari's Roma Città Aperta program, and on Elisabetta Laurini's Dark Entries on Radio Elettrica. They also received international airplay on Graham Duff's Mixtape and Colin Newman's Swimming In Sound radio show.
With the arrival of bassist Giulia Tanoni, they began performing live on the local scene, receiving enthusiastic feedback.
In 2022 they released the single Behind the Window, followed in 2023 by the song Contrast.
