Portland psych-gaze collective Sun Atoms are set to join Modest Mouse on a series of summer tour dates in support of their acclaimed album Everything Forever. To mark the announcement, the band has unveiled Narco Polo Remixes, a new two-track release featuring fresh interpretations of their collaboration with Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock.
Released via Little Cloud Records, the remixes come courtesy of multi-instrumentalist Peter G. Holmström (The Dandy Warhols, Pete International Airport) and Sun Atoms member June Kang. Holmström’s Marco Polo (NRC RMX) transforms the original into a sleek, hypnotic psychedelic groove, while Kang’s Narco Polo (JunN RemiX) dives into deeper, bass-heavy territory, emphasizing the track’s immersive atmosphere.
Fronted by Jsun Atoms and featuring a lineup of accomplished musicians from across the West Coast underground scene, Sun Atoms continue to blur the boundaries between psychedelic rock, post-punk and cinematic soundscapes. Their latest album Everything Forever, produced by Holmström and mixed by Jagz Kooner, spent four months in the charts during 2025 and includes collaborations with Isaac Brock and other notable artists.
Known for their mesmerizing live performances, Sun Atoms have recently shared stages with The Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo, Brian Jonestown Massacre and L.A. Witch. Narco Polo Remixes is available now across major digital platforms.

ortland’s premier psych-gaze outfit Sun Atoms have just been tapped to support Modest Mouse for a run of summer tour dates in support of their new album 'An Eraser And A Maze' -- and they’re celebrating the announcement by dropping two massive new reworks of their mesmerizing original 'Narco Polo' collaboration with none other than Isaac Brock himself.
Faced with a summer tour deadline and their next full-length album still in the oven, the band did what any self-respecting sonic architects would do -- they handed the stems over to two very capable producers... Namely, multi-instrumentalist Peter G. Holmström (The Dandy Warhols, Pete International Airport) and Sun Atoms’ own June Kang. Both have been on a absolute tear lately, churning out remixes for the likes of A Place To Bury Strangers and The Macks.
The result is the "Narco Polo Remixes', released by Little Cloud Records, where Sun Atoms and Isaac Brock transport unaware bystanders to a surreal, psychedelic fever dream. This 2-track single offers heavy grooves, warped vocals, and plenty of volume. Holmström’s sleek, hypnotic 'Marco Polo (NRC RMX)' arrives alongside a striking new visual from rising artist Brady Tucson. Meanwhile, June Kang takes the track into deep, sub-heavy territory on his 'Narco Polo (JunN RemiX)'.
One of the most magnetic forces on the West coast, Sun Atoms is made up of enigmatic vocalist Jsun Atoms (The Upsidedown, Daydream Machine), multi-instrumentalist June Kang, saxophonist-trumpeter-gu
"Lately I’ve been super into slower tempo remixes and trying to keep it groovy but at lower than 100 BPM. Always being somewhat of a bass head, I tend to go heavy-handed on the low end and kick sounds," says June Kang on the track’s re-envisioning.
"Once I got the kick and bass gelling together, the rest of it was playing with samplers, sequencers, and my favorite Korg MS20 to keep the groove in place. Isaac's voice was too fun to cut up, and Jsun always lets me go over the top with his vocal effects. I had too much fun with this remix."
Sun Atoms' acclaimed second album 'Everything Forever' pushes into expansive, genre-defying territory. Produced by Holmström and mixed by Jagz Kooner (Massive Attack, Oasis, Primal Scream), the album held in the charts for four months in 2025, featuring collaborations with Isaac Brock, The Vandelles' Jasno Swarez and Tremours' Lauren Andino. Their debut 'Let There Be Light' was mixed by legendary producer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths, The Cranberries) and features The Black Angels’ Alex Maas on the opening track.

Blending psychedelic rock, post-punk and cinematic soundscapes, Sun Atoms create a hypnotic, immersive live experience described as “blurring the line between concert and séance”. They recently played with The Flaming Lips and Yo La Tengo, Brian Jonestown Massacre and L.A. Witch, as well as performing at Los Angeles' Arroyo Secodelic Festival. As of June 26th, the 'Narco Polo Remixes' can be found across digital music platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify and Bandcamp, where it is already available for download.
