🔵 LiVES • Not Punk (Single)

  From ITALY

  Read the Essential
LiVES is the visceral rock band the modern scene desperately needs. Born in Cornwall and refined in Kent, the powerhouse trio—formed by brothers Peter and Alex Chisholm alongside Daniel Billing—emerged from the ashes of their cult duo, The Sea.

Following their acclaimed 2024 debut Let Them Eat Cake and a sold-out 2025 European tour, the band is back. Their ferocious new single, "Not Punk," is a two-minute, adrenaline-fueled attack on fake rebellion and political posers. Produced by the legendary John Cornfield (Oasis, Muse), the track delivers breakneck drums, sharp riffs, and savage, biting lyrics.

Serving as the second teaser for their highly anticipated sophomore album, Ghosts (dropping January 29, 2027, via Sister 9 Records), "Not Punk" proves LiVES hasn't softened. This is raw, socially charged post-punk fury at its finest—fast, feral, and utterly necessary.

orn in Cornwall, sharpened in Kent, LiVES are the kind of band that rock needs — a visceral, white-knuckle collision of post-punk fury and hard rock precision that doesn’t ask for your attention, it demands it.

LiVES was formed by brothers Peter and Alex Chisholm and Daniel Billing out of the ashes of the brother’s former cult rock duo The Sea.

LiVES tear into the fakes with snarling new single ‘Not Punk’

Not Punk is the second cut to land ahead of LiVES forthcoming album Ghosts (due 29/01/27), a short, sharp blast right wing-baiting banger!

Where the previous single Burn went big, Not Punk goes fast and feral. Two minutes of pure adrenaline, it's LiVES at their most stripped-down and vicious, all snarling vocals, breakneck drums and a riff that doesn't hang around.

Lyrically, it's classic LiVES: sardonic, cutting and unashamedly angry, taking aim at the posers and pretenders playing dress-up with a culture they don't understand.

It's a middle finger to phoney rebellion, real disillusionment aimed squarely at fake disillusionment. Produced once again by John Cornfield, Not Punk proves LiVES haven't softened one bit. If anything, the knives are sharper.
  • a visceral, white-knuckle collision of post-punk fury
It's raw, it's real, and it doesn't apologise for either.
Three pieces. One hell of a noise.

The Sea released 3 albums and played over 1000 concerts and festivals (including Glastonbury, CMJ, SXSW, Eurosonic, and supported the likes of Muse, The Kills, Paul Weller as well as having 3 songs in Kerrang’s Top 10.
  • Fast, aggressive and socio-politically charged, the songs cut as deep as the riffs
LiVES critically acclaimed debut album Let Them Eat Cake (2024), produced by the legendary John Cornfield (Oasis, Muse, Supergrass), arrived like a fist through a wall.

Fast, aggressive and socio-politically charged, the songs cut as deep as the riffs — unflinching social commentary delivered with the precision of modern poetry, channeling disillusionment with contemporary society into anthems that feel both furious and necessary. These aren’t slogans.

They’re songs with something to say.
  • LiVES return with their brand new album Ghosts set for release on Sister 9 Records on January 29
Their track Just Can’t Get Enough found a wider audience via its placement on the hit Netflix series Lucifer, but LiVES have always been a live proposition first — a band that earns its stripes on stage; a sold-out European headline tour in 2025, plus support slots alongside The Buzzcocks, Span and The Wildhearts, confirmed what anyone who’s seen them already knew: this band is built for rooms that sweat.

With radio support from BBC 6 Music, Radio X and BBC Introducing already in the bag, LiVES return with their brand new album Ghosts set for release on Sister 9 Records on January 29, 2027.

The anger hasn’t gone anywhere.
It’s just been sharpened.
