After returning earlier this year to deliver their broad and atmospheric new singles ‘Play’ and ‘Amsterdam’, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys now continue the support for their eagerly-awaited new album ‘Teen Tapes (for performing your own stunts)’ with the pulsing new offering ‘Autobiography Of An Evening’.
Written shortly after Lucy had finished reading ‘Autobiography of Red’, a novel in verse by Anne Carson, ‘Autobiography Of An Evening’ looks to adopt the same vivid atmosphere. With Carson’s ability to merge the mythological and the profound with the more pedestrian and mundane in a deeply humanising way, the song title is a nod of gratitude towards the book and the author.
Speaking about the track, she said, “The song is about trying to hold onto moments of intense connection as a way out of the terror of the every day. About the courage in continuing the attempt to transcend, while half aware of the inevitable descent.”
Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys will celebrate the release of ‘Teen Tapes (for performing your own stunts)’ with an extensive European Tour, including shows in London, Bristol, Edinburgh & Hull. For tour dates & ticket info visit https://lklb.tourlink.to/
