A few years after the split with the previous members of the project, Polverini choose to set up his own small private studio, to be able to write and record in closer touch with the music he wanted to produce, without distractions or external interferences.
The final result, Songs for a Dreamer, is an album recorded and written rather than written and recorded. Drawing inspiration from cinematics visual scenes, the full-length aim to be an audio storyboard for life and memories that can speak to the heart of listeners.
The song is enriched by a video clip made assembling images and collages of old VHS tapes from the 70s/80s, bringing back memories of those key moments from childhood and life that anyone who grew up in those years surely keep.
Looking for similarities between his own emotional experiences and other people’s feelings, Polverini wanted to tie the tracks together, using a soundtrack-style common thread.
Sonically, the tracks have been nurtured by Polverini’s eclectic listening, from experimental electronics to post-rock, but also trip hop and neo-psychedelia.
Memorial, released September 13th, 2023, is the first single taken from Songs for a Dreamer, the new album for Atom Earth Mother, the electronic ambient project of composer Daniele Polverini.
Entirely played, recorded and produced by Polverini, Memorial mixes ambient and electronic, alternating drone sounds.
Think of Aphex Twin and Tycho filtered through the more peaceful attitude of Boards of Canada and Brian Eno.
